DEVELOPMENT OF LIFE SKILLS

Life skills development focuses on activities to improve your ability to live independently. At Mission of Hope, we will actively work with you and your family to understand your needs and goals. Then, we will create a personalised support plan that can help you build your skills, confidence, and independence.

Our compassionate support staff will assist you in navigating the difficulties that you might face in everyday life. We will implement strategies so that you can adapt to and effectively deal with life’s challenges.

Some of the life skills we will help you develop include:

  • Personal care and hygiene

  • Maintaining cleanliness in your home

  • Preparing healthy meals

  • Budget management

  • Doing laundry

  • Shopping for groceries

  • Fixing general maintenance and repair issues at your home

  • Communicating with support providers

  • Accessing public transport/travelling independently

You can get individual training sessions or participate in group activities to learn the much-needed skills of effective communication, daily living, social interaction, problem-solving, and managing your plan and budget.
